The Forces Champion Raising The Bar For Women's Sport
Olympic gold medallist Heather Stanning has paid a visit to Scotland to promote women's sport.
The Royal Artillery Major spent time with troops taking part in an all-female competition set up by the 51st Infantry Brigade.
The Olympic gold medallist and rowing superstar soon set the pace for the competitors to try and match – 500 metres in just 1 minute 38 seconds.
Since her wins at the London and Rio games, Major Stanning has found herself becoming an ambassador for female sport, particularly in the forces.
Two days of competition in Scotland saw the women taking on sports like basketball, badminton, swimming, and touch rugby.
With women often in the minority in forces units, it's been a good chance to get together.
Next year, 51 Brigade hopes to expand this event even further, opening it up to other services in Scotland like the police and ambulance service.
