Forces Horses Fit For A Queen

Horses from the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in Knightsbridge have received a much needed makeover after eight weeks away in Leicestershire.
Every year the horses are given a break from their ceremonial duties in London and are sent to the countryside.
The horses are well known for looking immaculate, so after their break they have to undergo a trip to the hairdressers to transform back into smart steeds fit for the Queen.
The horses will undergo the full grooming process.
First they will be brushed down to remove dirt, their hair will be detangled and hooves clipped.
Then it's time for a soapy bath, before coats are clipped and beards shaved.
The horses also need to get back to healthy eating and their strict exercise regime.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is never off duty.
Fighting operational soldiers first and foremost, when based in London they form the Queen's Life Guard and protect the official entrance to the royal palaces at Horse Guards 24/7, 365 days of the year.
