Former Boxing Champ Spars With The Army

Former British middleweight champion Nick Blackwell has paid a visit to the Army's boxers.

The retired boxing star, 25, had his career cut short after spending a week in a coma, following a serious brain injury inflicted during his defeat by Chris Eubank Jr.

He's now hoping to train others. During his visit to the Army boxers in Aldershot he said:
"Every single person in this place could win a medal and get into the Commonwealth Games because they've all got talent. And if they wanted to go pro, they'd all go well in pro... they're really, really well-schooled."
When asked what advice he'd give Army boxers, he said:
"Just enjoy it and be committed. It's easy just to say it, but doing it is different."
The Army have a busy season ahead in the ring, but the main focus is next year's Inter-Services Boxing Championships.
