"Gurkhas Should Be Deployed To Protect UK Borders"

The growing migrant crisis in Calais has prompted the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey to call for military involvement.

Kevin Hurley believes Gurkhas from a base in Folkstone should be deployed to ensure UK borders aren't breached.

He spoke to Forces TV's Cat King, who began by asking him what he thinks the Gurkhas could achieve.

It comes as the government is facing mounting calls for the Army to deal with the migrants trying to enter the Channel Tunnel.

Nine people have been killed attempting to cross the Channel in the last month, whilst more than 3,500 people have tried to get into the tunnel this week.

On Tuesday, meanwhile, a Sudanese national died after being crushed by a truck.

British lorry drivers, some politicians and other figures have demanded that both the French and British armies take action.
