Lee Rigby Killer Fights For £20,000 Compensation From Taxpayer
An Islamic extremist who murdered soldier Lee Rigby is fighting to get £20,000 in compensation.
Michael Adebolajo, who brutally hacked the 25-year-old Fusilier to death near his barracks, had his teeth knocked out after lashing out at officers who were escorting him to his cell at HMP Belmarsh in south east London in 2013.
The five officers involved were suspended on full pay during an investigation but were later cleared and returned to work.
32-year-old Adebolajo has been trying to find legal representation ever since but it's believed he has now found a lawyer and is pressing for the compensation.
Lee Rigby's mother Lyn told The Sun:
"This is nothing more than blood money. You can replace broken teeth but you can't bring back the life of my treasured boy."
Adebolajo and his accomplice Michael Adebowale knocked the soldier down with their car before hacking at him with knives and a cleaver. They were both sentenced to life in jail for the murder.
At their sentencing the pair lashed out violently in the dock, screaming "Allahu Akbar" and wrestling with security guards.
Adebolajo was sent to HMP Belmarsh but later moved to Frankland prison in Co Durham after trying to radicalise other inmates.
