National Memorial Arboretum Remembers The Cyprus Emergency
During five years of bitter fighting in the 1950s nearly 400 British servicemen and police officers were killed in what became known as the Cyprus Emergency.
The attacks finally ended in April 1959, a year before the island was granted independence.
After a seven year campaign a unique memorial to their sacrifice has been unveiled at the National Memorial Arboretum.
