Reservists Head To Cyprus For Ex Lion Star
More than 100 reservists from East Anglia are in Cyprus taking part in Exercise Lion Star.
The troops, members of 158 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, have been honing their basic infantry skills, culminating in a platoon level attack on a mock insurgent hideout.
Lion Star is a two-week exercise designed to refresh these troop’s basic infantry skills.
Known as the Steel Backs 158 Regiment has 300 reservists.
As a transport unit these men and women are more used to driving than deliberate attacks.
But there’s now a growing emphasis on what the army calls its “Soldier First” ethos.
