Russia Releases New Footage Of "Precision Strikes"

Russia's Ministry of Defence has released footage of what it calls "precision strikes" against Islamic State targets in Syria, saying it has destroyed command posts, training camps, arms depots and a transfer point.

The video shows Su-24M bombers hitting a large transfer point with underground facilities, located in a mountainous area near near the village of Salma, in Latakia province.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said after the target was hit with high-explosive air bombs, a fire at the installation caused munitions there to detonate - with the target completely destroyed. He added:

“Over the last day, Russian warplanes have eliminated a convoy of terrorist vehicles, a mobile mortar gunnery team and three underground bunker systems."

The Russian Air Force claims to have carried out 55 sorties in the last 24 hours, hitting 53 Islamic State targets.
