'Suspicious' Package Disposed Of By British Army 'Not A Threat'

A British Army bomb-disposal unit has disposed of a suspicious package which caused the Chelmsford Army Reserve Centre to be evacuated.
It was examined and found to pose no threat to the public.
Essex Police said in a statement:
"Police were called to reports of a suspicious package at the Territorial Army centre in Colchester Road, Chelmsford at around 11.35am today (Wednesday, January 4).
"The centre was evacuated and a cordon put in place. The Explosive Ordnance Division was called.
"The package was safely disposed of by the Explosive Ordnance Division.
"It was examined and found it posed no threat to the public."
