Taliban Announces Start of Spring Offensive

The Taliban says it will begin its spring offensive in Afghanistan this week - the first year it'll take place without NATO troops in the country.

A statement said the campaign, pushing for what it calls the 'liberation' of the country, will begin on Friday.

Forces TV's Paula Middlehurst spoke to Christina Lamb, a veteran correspondent of the conflicts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

She's written a book, 'Farewell Kabul', that's critical of Western intervention in Afghanistan.
