US Takes Out IS Weapons Cache Near Mosul

The US military has released video footage of airstrikes carried out against the so-called Islamic State (IS).

Targeting both a Da’esh oil pump in Syria and a weapons cache near Mosul in Iraq, the strikes took place as part of the continued fight against IS.

News of the airstrike comes as a car bombing in Baghdad killed at least eight people on Thursday.

A police officer said that the explosives-laden car was parked near an outdoor fruit and vegetable market.

Six civilians and two policemen are reported to have been killed, whilst at least 15 other people were wounded.

Although the attack has not yet been claimed, it bears the hallmarks of Islamic State.

IS have carried out a string of bombings in the Iraqi capital over the past week, which have killed nearly 100 people.
