VIDEO: 2.5M Wide Vortex Opens On Lake

The Tusla District of the US Army Corps of Engineers opened the gates on the spillway on Lake Texoma, bordering Texas and Oaklahoma. The water release created a dramatic-looking vortex in the water.

The artificial lake was partially drained in early June to regulate water levels after recent flooding in the area. Edward Johnson, who shot the footage, said the vortex at its peak was capable of ingulfing "a full size boat."
