We Were There: The Battle Of Mount Tumbledown

On the night of June 13 1982, the British launched an assault on Mount Tumbledown, one of the highest points near the town of Port Stanley and eventually succeeded in driving Argentinian forces from the mountain.

The ensuing battle saw some of the fiercest fighting of the entire Falklands War with soldiers forced to use bayonets.
"And that's what we entered, killing zones. This is gutter fighting. Kill him in any way you can, because if you don't - he will kill you."
Nine British soldiers died in the assault with a further 43 wounded. The Argentines lost over 30 men with a further 30 taken prisoner.

Tonight some of those men who fought in the battle for Mount Tumbledown come together to share their experiences on Forces TV.
