Soldiering On Awards: The Countdown's On

Countdown to 2018 Soldiering On Awards

The clock is ticking with not long to go now before the winners of the Soldiering On Awards are announced at a black-tie ceremony in London hosted by BBC broadcaster Jeremy Vine.

The special evening at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel will be attended by finalists from each category, with nominations having been welcomed from the Armed Forces community and public.

An independent panel of judges has decided on 12 award winners, who will be revealed on Friday.

You can take a look below at how long there is to go before the big show...

The prizes recognise the achievements of those who have served their country and the diverse people and groups who work together in support of the Armed Forces community.

One category being contested is Sporting Excellence - with the finalists ranging from an RAF Veteran who's hoping for a second Invictus gold just two years after picking up a bow, to a British Army veteran para-triathlete, to Britain's Strongest Disabled Man.

There's even an Animal Partnership Award, while this year Forces Network is proud to sponsor the People's Choice Award category, giving a huge boost of morale to people who deserve all the support we can give them in their dedication to the Armed Forces community.

You can find out more about the finalists for that award right here, or about all of the finalists for the Awards here.

Forces Network will be providing live coverage throughout what's guaranteed to be a fantastic evening for the forces family - keep your eyes on www.forcesnews.com for more!
