2026 Grand Military Gold Cup cancelled due to waterlogged track at Sandown

The 2026 Grand Military Gold Cup has been cancelled after the track at Sandown was found to be waterlogged.
All racing has been abandoned on Friday due to the conditions of the track after a lot of wet weather in Esher.
It means the biggest military horse racing event of the year will not take place in 2026.

An inspection was held at 08:00 on Wednesday, and the course was deemed unraceable
The organisers said: "Grand Military Gold Cup Day at Sandown Park has been abandoned on Friday 6 February due to a waterlogged track, making the ground unraceable."
Last year's Grand Military Gold Cup saw Captain Douglas White win on Fil D'ariane in a stunning upset.
