Army Shows Navy How To Sail

The Army has come out on top in this year's  Joint Services Offshore Regatta, beating the Navy to the overall title.

After a slow start at the beginning of last week, with a lack of wind, that all changed in a series of races off Brighton.

Teams in each of the three classes sail identical yachts so the losers can't blame their performance in inferior equipment.

After the 6 inshore races, followed by a final day-night dash from Brighton back to Gosport.

Sailing in the Solent saw winds gust to force seven or eight, adding excitement to the run to the line.

The overall best boat was the Army reserve 'Luter' skippered by the Daz Cattle.
