Army Track & Field Star To Compete for England For the First Time

Army track and field athlete Lauren Hall is set to compete in an England vest for the first time in her career.

The young officer will make her international debut next month in Ireland at the Athletics Ireland 10k Championships.

Following a frustrating 2016, Lauren admits she was slightly taken aback on her selection

"I was quite surprised (...) I had it [the selection] in the back of my mind but I didn't want it to be at the forefront"

This season, the Winchester-based Troop Commander has has claimed both the Inter Services and Army Cross Country titles:

"I was just so determined to get back to where I was from the previous season, and having that hard summer and then again going into the hard winter (...) has really helped me, it has made me a better athlete"

Lauren will run for her country for the first time on the 9th April at the AAI National 10k Championships.
