Two young military competitors have won gold medals at the National Development Boxing Championships in Cannock.

Billie Matthews from the Royal Navy defeated Francesca Skerritt to win the under-63kg title by a split decision.

The Army's Cody Pearson took the under-80kg gold after beating Kamii Nowak from Basingstoke on a split decision.

Elsewhere, defeats on finals day meant a still very impressive silver medal for Army boxers Lewis Bird, Charlotte Tasker and Kai Gales.

Earlier in the competition, four more British Army boxers were beaten at the semi-final stage meaning they all won a bronze medal.

It was another impressive weekend for the British Army team but can they take that momentum into a big Forces Fight Night against Bahrain?
