The students dominated in the women's competition with Bobbie White and Philippa Balcombe impressing.
As always with powerlifting events, the real success came throughout the day as a number of competitors on both sides raised their personal bests and proved they can lift more than they thought each time.
The event, which was billed as "when strength meets service", was an officially sanctioned meet by North Midlands Powerlifting, and Loughborough is considered the number one sports university in the country.
