
The contenders: Shortlisted nominations revealed for British Army Sports Awards 2024

British Army Sport has announced the shortlisted nominees for this year's British Army Sports Awards.
Sports recognised include rowing, shooting, boxing, fencing, equestrian and ice hockey, while the Team of the Year has been announced as the men's rugby union team.
The nominees for Sportswoman of the Year are cricketer Lance Corporal Shema Wright-Quashie, Lieutenant Kate Olding from athletics and ice hockey player Signaller Jessica Sprules.

The Sportsman of the Year will be selected from tennis player Major Ben Rogers, modern pentathlete Lieutenant Sam Curry and Olympics rower Corporal Steve Cox.
There are four Rising Star nominees: showjumper Gunner Charlotte Pudge, Sapper Emilia Faulkner from shooting, and boxers Private Cody Pearson and Corporal Charlotte Tasker.
The officials who have been shortlisted are Corporal Andrew Cook from ice hockey, Lance Corporal Seth Blackmore from fencing and Sergeant Sarah Karim from equitation dressage.
The Army will also be announcing awards for Army Sports Cadet of the Year, Major, Minor and Reserve Units and a Lifetime Achievement award which this year is going to be given to Major Joe Collins from the Army FA.
