Army women lays statement claim on Inter Services title after dominant win over Navy

Watch: The Army women cruise to victory against the Navy with a 52-0 win in Hull

The Army Rugby League women's team have dominated the second round of the Inter Services with a resounding 52-0 win over the Royal Navy.

The Navy, who walk away with no tries against the Army, cannot win the Inter Services title after also losing to the Royal Air Force in Portsmouth a week earlier.

Searching for their fifteenth consecutive Inter Services title, the Army gave the Navy little wiggle room in the first half after running home a total of seven tries in the opening forty minutes.

Their domination gave the Army an astronomical 40-0 lead over the Navy at half time, as the dark blues walk away scoreless going into the second half.

Returning in the second half, the Army began as they left off with two more tries in the opening ten minutes.

The Navy began to find their feet and put up a great defence against the Army and at certain points, kept the ball on their end of the field.

But the Army eventually found a way forward to score one last try in the dying minutes of the game, ending with ten tries in total and a dominant 52-0 win.

The Army face the Royal Air Force next week in Wakefield as they look to win their fifteenth consecutive title.
