UKAF men's cricketers beat Yorkshire Academy side after earlier defeat in double header

The UK Armed Forces men's cricketers had mixed results in their matches against Yorkshire CCC Under 18 Boys Academy on Monday.
In the first of two games at Sheriff Hutton Bridge CC, the Academy posted 139/3 in their 20 overs, courtesy of number three Jawad Akhtar's 65 and a 50 from middle order batsman Edward Burch.
In response, no UKAF batter scored more than 18 runs in the face of an impressive bowling display – Monty Dodsworth took 4-17 in his four overs, backed up by 3-24 from Bradley Sylvester – and the Yorks side won by 47 runs.

The UK Armed Forces team bounced back strongly in the second match, having won the toss and electing to bat.
The RAF's opening pair of Tom Shorthouse and Ross Diver put on 44 for the first wicket and the side reached 73-2 before Diver was dismissed for 36.
Adam Fisher and Adam Sutcliffe in the middle order struck several boundaries to help to lift UKAF to 147/4 in their 20 overs.
The military side then restricted their opponents to 133/8 – each of their bowlers picking up a wicket, with Tom Shorthouse and Ross Dearden each grabbing a brace of scalps.
It follows a first Inter Service T20 Championships victory for the Royal Navy men's team since 2010 at Lord’s on Thursday.
