Army veteran wins men's C1-3 Kilo TT at National Track Championships

Former Parachute Regiment soldier Jaco van Gass has won the C1-3 time trial at the National Track Championships in Manchester.

The ex-servicemen edged out Great Britain teammate Finlay Graham to take the top spot with a winning time of 1m 07.417 secs.

Van Gass will be chasing further success in the sprint events as the competition continues over the weekend.

The former Invictus Games athlete won two gold medals and a bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics where he also broke three world records.

South African-born Van Gass lost his left arm while serving with the Parachute Regiment in 2009 after he was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.
