Prince Harry takes to the slopes on a sit-ski at Invictus Games winter training camp

Watch: Prince Harry tries sit-skiing at Invictus Games training camp.

The Duke of Sussex took to the slopes of Whistler, Canada, on a sit-ski while visiting the Winter Training Camp of the Invictus Games.

Accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry spent time with athletes and tournament staff in Whistler Village and at Olympic Station, on the first of a three-day visit at the One Year To Go event.

The Duke tried out the sit-ski, accompanied by a skiing guide, on the slopes despite freezing temperatures of around -4°C.

The sit-ski, a specialised apparatus with a seat mounted on a single ski underneath, is commonly used in para-alpine skiing at the Paralympics and will be seen for the first time at the Invictus Games next year.

Next year's game will see winter sports such as alpine skiing, snowboarding and wheelchair curling featured for the first time.

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler will take place from 8-16 February 2025 and will see participation from more than 500 competitors.

The first edition of the games was held in London in 2014, and has since then gone from strengths to strengths with subsequent competitions held in the US, Canada, Australia and Germany.
