Horse of the Year: Army rider preparing Hummer III to jump into national competition

The Army's Major Nicola Rush is preparing her horse, Hummer III, for the biggest showjumping event in his career.

The pair have enjoyed success on the military circuit but now 11-year-old Hummer is set to take on the best in The Horse of the Year Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

Civilian rider Gemma Ellison will look to navigate Hummer over the jumps in the Horse of the Year Show Newcomers Championship and you can see how Maj Rush has prepared the horse for the test in our video above.
