Great Britain could only manage 17th place at the latest round of the IBSF Bobsleigh World Cup in Winterberg.

British soldier and bobsleigh brakeman Nick Gleeson was racing in the four-man sled with Pilot Brad Hall, Alan Toward and Ben Simons, but they struggled against German opposition who took the first three places.

The British team finished in 15th place which was nearly a full two seconds behind the winners.

3 Para Private Gleeson was part of the GB set up alongside fellow soldier Lamin Deen at this year’s Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in South Korea and his long-term goal is representing Team GB as a bobsleigh pilot at the Beijing 2022 Games.
