British Army Blades beat Royal Navy Destroyers to take home bragging rights in Swindon

Watch: Highlights of the British Army Blades v Royal Navy Destroyers match

The British Army Blades have beaten the Royal Navy Destroyers 3-0 in a fiery encounter in Swindon.

Goals from Ryan McNeill, Timo Lindgren and Sam Robinson saw the Blades take the bragging rights in a rare non-Inter Services Army v Navy clash.

A missed penalty shot from the Navy's Lee Duance was key in the Army win as his shot would have levelled the score at 1-1.

The match was being played as a marquee contest during the Army's Whittaker Cup championship week in at the Link Centre.

Both the Blades and the Destroyers dealt with disappointment at this year's Inter Services as the RAF Aces lifted the trophy.
