
Nominees are announced for the 2024 RAF Sports Awards

RAF Sport has announced their nominees for this year's RAF Sports Awards at RAF Halton next month, where a big variety of sports will be represented.
The Sportsman of the Year nominees are triathlete Chief Technician Peter Ellis, weightlifter Corporal Mike Cutler and tennis player Flight Sergeant Martyn Ledbury.
The Sportswoman of the Year will be chosen from three outstanding athletes: Flying Officer Natalie Marsh from Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Air Specialist 1 Darcie Muggeson-Proud for table tennis and Flight Lieutenant Olivia Henderson for waterskiingand wakeboarding.
The Team of the Year has three nominees: motorcycle road racing, course angling, and for the first time, esports, with the Rocket League Team (Storm Shadows).
RAF Sport will also honour its coaches and officials,sports administrators and civilian volunteers with awards.
Furthermore, seven Lifetime Achievement awards across a vast range of different sports will also be presented this year.
The RAF Sports Awards will be streamed live on our BFBS Forces News You Tube Channel on the afternoon of 7 November, direct from Halton House.
