The Royal Air Force women's hockey team have helped the Air Force win an impressive Inter Services double after a 2-1 win against the Army in Aldershot.

Goals from Jeorgia Carr and Ellen Hood enabled the air women to edge past their hosts with Lucie Griffiths on target for the Army.

Their win comes after their male counterparts won a record seventh successive title earlier in the day.

Following the result, winning Air Force skipper Air Specialist Class 1 Alex Naughalty said she hopes this latest triumph is the start of more to come.

She said: "As captain, I am extremely proud and we are going through quite a transition as a squad.

"We don't know where our expectations will be, but it's really building to something special and we are glad that we can start here and there's so much more to come."
