From Medals To Marriage: A Poolside Proposal In Sydney

Love was in the air at the Aquatic Centre on the final day of the swimming event.

Just after everyone thought all the action was over a team Australia Swimmer took centre stage to ask his girlfriend to marry him.

Dean Knobel waited for the perfect moment, just after the final race of the night, to pop the question on the microphone in front of all the spectators.

There were huge cheers across the pool when she said "yes".

Speaking just after the proposal, Dean's brand new fiancée, Rachel Williamson said:

“I thought we were just getting a photo taken. I was shaking… I am very, very happy."
