Para athlete and Afghanistan veteran Corie Mapp has won a silver medal at the IBSF (International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation) Para Sport World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia.

The former Lance Corporal in The Life Guards, which is one the Household Cavalry regiments, completed both of his runs to finish second behind Latvian home favourite Arturs Klots.

Elsewhere, Royal Marine Commando Taylor Lawrence returned to action at the BMW IBSF World Cup in Innsbruck, Austria, following a late start to his season due to injuries within Britain's four-man bobsleigh team.

On Saturday he finished 11th in the two-man bobsleigh along with pilot Brad Hall.

And on Sunday the pair were joined by Arran Gulliver and Greg Cackett in the four-man bobsleigh, where they finished in a three-way-tie for sixth with teams from Switzerland and China.

German rivals Team Francesco Friedrich took the title.
