Military Police Face Australian Opposition In Festival Of Cricket
The Adjutant General Corps have taken part in the International Police Festival of Cricket in Stourport.
On day two of the tournament, the AGC players took on two teams from Australia - less than 24 hours before the start of the second Ashes Test.
In the first match, they faced New South Wales and were in the field first.
They managed to take six wickets, but 21 runs in the final two overs gave the Australian team a final score of 135-6.
In their reply, the AGC lost their first wicket after just four balls but managed to steady the ship after ten overs with a score of 62-2.
However, some steady fielding from New South Wales frustrated the military players and they failed to reach their target, falling 25 runs short at the end of their 20 overs.

In their second game, the AGC took on Western Australia looking to get back to winning ways.
They were batting first and got to 25 runs before the first wicket fell.
A strong second-wicket partnership was worth 82 runs and despite the loss of four more wickets, the AGC recorded a good score of 147-6.
In their fielding spell, it was AGC dominance.
They grabbed wickets in the second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh overs and the wickets continued to tumble.
A mix-up in the middle cost Western Australia their ninth wicket and when the final over came, the AGC score was unreachable.
During the five-day tournament, the AGC are playing with a specially-made multi-coloured kit. On the shoulder of the shirts is the name of Rene Regis, a former player who recently passed away.
The team captain, Corporal Varun Bali, had a glowing tribute to his ex-teammate.
He said: "He was number three for AGC and a very senior player. He sadly passed away this year.
"For his tribute, as it is a carnival, we tried to mix-up the colours.
"He was not just a key player. He was a key character for the team.
"He kept everyone going and was a great human being. I hope he is listening to me.
"We miss him and we will always miss him. Every time AGC come on the field, we always remember him and play for him."
