New-look Royal Navy aiming to make Inter Services netball impact

In 2023, the RAF and British Army battled for the Inter Services netball championships while the Royal Navy were left rueing back-to-back defeats.

However, this year's championship marks a first-time opportunity for several new Navy players.

One of those is new team captain, Able Seaman Ellie Stanley-Roberts who has a successful history in the sport as a youngster in the North East.

"Well, we are a brand new team," said the Navy's new on-court leader.

"It's about working together and supporting each other. I'm not just saying it, but I don't really care what the Army are doing and the RAF are doing.

"We have to focus on our individual selves and as a team to then create something what will perform."

The Navy kick off the tournament against the RAF in the first match before preparing for a battle with the reigning champions from the Army.
