
RAF Hockey player Liam Sanford set for quarter-finals in Paris after win against France

The men's GB hockey team, which includes RAF player Air Specialist 1 Liam Sanford, is set to progress to the quarter-finals at the Olympics after coming from behind to defeat home nation France 2-1.
The French team scored to take the lead in the second quarter thanks to Timothée Clément, leaving the British team to once again attempt to come back from behind for the third match in a row.
The British side was awarded a penalty stroke which was successfully taken by Zach Wallace to level the scoreboard at 1-1.
AS1 Sanford struck the post with a close-range shot for GB, who won 14 penalty corners but did not score with any of them.
The GB team sealed the win with a second goal by James Albery in the fourth and final quarter, finishing 2-1.
The British team now sit second in their pool with a place in the quarter-finals becoming a near formality, as they face Germany in their final pool game on Friday.
