Royal Air Force hockey star Liam Sanford selected for second Olympics

Royal Air Force hockey player Air Specialist Class 1 Liam Sanford has been selected for his second Olympics as GB Hockey announce their men's and women's squads who will head to Paris next month.
With under 40 days to go until the start of Paris 2024, AS1 Sanford, who plays as a defender, was named in the 16-man squad which includes a mix of Olympians and debutants.
The men's team will hope to improve on their result in Tokyo, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals after a 3-1 defeat to India.
AS1 Sanford helped GB qualify for the Olympics in qualifying tournaments earlier this year, where he reached a milestone of a combined 100 caps for GB Hockey and England Hockey.
He spoke to BFBS Sport in February during his preparations for team selection, saying: "I think we're in a really good spot, we have got a great playing identity that all of the players and the coaching staff and everyone at GB have bought into.
"It's now just refining and tweaking the finer details to get ready for Paris."
