The RAF Come Face To Face With The Vikings

The RAF's rugby side have suffered a 38-10 defeat at the hands of the Richmond Vikings in London.

The RAF were perhaps in a difficult position from the start - so new were some of the air force players that they only met for the first time three days before the match.

That lack of experience told in the first half with the Richmond Vikings blowing them away with five tries.

Callum Grant got things underway, making the most of a hole in the RAF defence on the line.

Hooker Alex Post showed off some impressive pace scoring the second and the fifth tries.

Tom Sargeant powered across the line for try number three, and Luke Outhwaite stretched out for the fourth.

The RAF had their chances but nervy play and handling errors meant they were 31 points to nothing down at half time.

Come the second forty, the light blues rallied with pressure from the forwards paying off.

They scored a pushover try 60 minutes in.

But a little later the visitors let themselves down – Richmond were awarded a penalty try for repeated offsides and high tackles.

The Air force added a penalty to reach double figures but the tie ended 38-10.
