
RAF judokas wins complete set of medals at first-ever British Veterans Open

Royal Air Force judokas have won a complete set of medals at the first-ever British Veterans Open in London.
RAF Judo's Sergeant Andy Melbourne was the stand-out performer among the military entries to win gold in the 100kg M2 category.
RAF judoka and UKAF Judo Chairman, Squadron Leader Steve Milne, won silver in the under 100kg M2 category and his teammate, Corporal Andy Steward, tied for bronze in the 100kg M1 category.

There was also medal success for the British Army and the Royal Navy, as Army Judo's Staff Sergeant Lewis Hannington won bronze in the under 90kg M1 category, and the Royal Navy Judo's Able Rate Ken Harris claimed bronze in the under 100kg M1 category.

The British Veterans Open, which was overseen by the British Judo Association, consisted of competitors from all over the world, including those who are still active on the international circuit.
Japan's double Olympic champion Shohei Ono and Team GB's 2016 Olympic bronze medallist, Sally Conway, were in attendance, presenting medals and prizes to the winners.
