Reaching For The Top: Climbers Take On RAF Championships

Forces personnel have been competing at the RAF Climbing Championships in Sheffield.

Attracting competitors of all ages from across the country, it included a guest category to allow Army and Royal Navy climbers to get involved.

The championships are supported by the British Mountaineering Council and the Royal British Legion, who are keen to show they're not just a charity for elderly veterans. See the results below:

  • Flying Officer Dan Heath scooped first place in the advanced men's category, with Flight Lieutenant Chantal Edwards taking it for the women.
  • Bouldering was won by Corporal Lee Thistleton and Flight Lieutenant Sophie Foxen.
  • Best station went to RAF Odiham.
