Rugby League: Heartbreak For Army Women In First Ever Super League South Final

There was heartbreak for the Army Women's rugby league team as they lost the first ever Super League South final 30-26 to the Cardiff Demons.

The Army led the game from the start with three tries before half-time – two from Kaiya Glynn and one from captain Emily White – to lead 16-12 at the break.

The Welsh side levelled it just after the interval, before Bethan Dainton added a fourth try and Katie Price a fifth to restore the Army's 10-point advantage at 26-16.

However, the Cardiff side, made up almost entirely of Welsh internationals, hit back with two late tries.

The Army had a two-point lead going into the final minute, but their skipper Ffion Lewis drove for the line to score under the posts.

She converted to leave the Army no time to respond.

The Cardiff Demons take the trophy back to Wales following their 30-26 win.
