Army Dominate RAF In Forces Rugby League Return
The Army have dominated on the night that services rugby league returned after two years.
Across three matches against the RAF, the Army won at development, men's and women's levels.
The matches were held at the Millennium Stadium in Pontefract – home to Featherstone Raiders.
Sheffield Eagles star Private Olly Butterworth scored twice for the Army men's team in their 34-16 victory.
The development teams played out an exciting match – but it was one-sided.
The men in red ran in 10 tries as they thrashed the RAF with a 50-4 win.
In the women's match, there was more success for the Army, who were beaten in the first-ever Super League South final last month.
The RAF used some of the Navy's female players to fill out their team but were defeated by 60 points to 10.
