The British Army's Corporal Lewis Bean has signed for Glasgow Warriors on a permanent deal.

The second-rower had a successful loan spell at the Scottish club from his parent team Northampton Saints.

Ahead of the 2021/22 season, the Army player is back at the Warriors – but this time, on a permanent basis.

He scored his first try for Glasgow in the final game of his loan spell in a match against Edinburgh in January.

Cpl Bean, a former Worcester Warriors player, is a key part of Mal Roberts' Army team that will be aiming for Inter Services glory in 2022.

The man 2 RIFLES previously served two tours of Afghanistan before making the move to elite sport.

Bean told the Glasgow Warriors website: "When I came to the Warriors the lads made me feel really welcome and I liked the way they played. I was delighted when I heard I’d have the chance to return.

“Playing rugby is my number one priority and I know at Glasgow I’ll get good game time.

"I really enjoyed working with Danny [Wilson] and the other coaches — they're great to work with and really know their stuff.

"I'm buzzing to get back up to Glasgow and make some more memories with the boys," he added.
