Army women score 15 tries in first fixture against Pacific Islanders
The Army Women began their season in dominant fashion after scoring a grand total of fifteen tries to secure a 97-7 win against the Pacific Islanders in Havant.
The Army led from the beginning with Corporal Mollie Earnshaw bagging the first try five minutes into the game, as the first half went on Private Elysha Dalton completed a hat-trick before half time where the Army led comfortably at 43-0.
In the beginning of the second half, the Pacific Islanders found an opening in the Army's defence and bagged their first converted try of the game, putting themselves on the scoresheet at 43-7.
But it didn't take long before the Army picked themselves up and showed the form they had displayed in the first half, with Private Kira Fitzpatrick proving her consistency when it comes to try conversions.
Pte Dalton scored her fourth try at the tail-end of the game to complete her haul, before team captain Staff Sergeant Jade Mullen got the Army's final try over the line before the final whistle.
The Army women will play Brunel University in Aldershot on 7 December ahead of a crunch fixture against Sweden on 21 January.
