France breezes into the semi-final with commanding win over Vodafone LooseHeadz
Reigning IDRC champions France are through to the semi-final of the International Defence Rugby Competition after they cruised to a 64-12 victory over the Vodafone LooseHeadz.
The French finish second on the table in Pool B and will go on to face the UK Armed Forces on 30 August.
They also join Ireland and Fiji who have also secured their spots in the semi-finals.
France scored 10 tries in total, including a hat-trick from their full-back Océane Buisson and a brace from their outside centre Eloïse Bourret.
Their other try-scorers included Sirine Magére, Cerise Moulin, Adeline Lamoine and Chloé Boutonne.
The team from the Vodafone LooseHeadz were on course to hand their French opponents a clean sheet, but that was until the civilian side scored two tries in the final 10 minutes.
Substitutes Lauren Roberts and Amy Battel were the two try-scorers for the LooseHeadz.
The semi-finals of the 2025 IDRC will take place at Richmond RFC on 30 August, and you can watch both of those games live on the BFBS Forces News YouTube channel.
