Royal Marines win Inverdale Cup after incredible tackle

The Royal Marines have won the 2022 Inverdale Cup final in Portsmouth.

The trophy, which is the Royal Navy's leading rugby union competition, was sealed with a 29-15 win over Fleet Air Arm.

A try-saving second-half tackle was an important turning point in the game as the Marines went on to victory.

Tries from Kye Baker (2) and Jarrard Hayler had the Marines in the lead at half-time despite Ben Ravi's try for Fleet Air Arm.

In the second half, minutes after an incredible try-saving tackle, the Marines sealed the win through Craig Duncan's try.

BBC Sport presenter John Inverdale was on hand to present the trophy which was donated by him in memory of his father, who served in the Navy.
