All the practice and preparation are over as the UK Armed Forces take on Tonga in their first pool match of the International Defence Rugby Competition in Fougères, Brittany, France.

There has been a late change for UKAF – Mark Williams comes into the centre in place of Solodrau Radianarova, who has a hamstring strain.

You can watch the match live on the Forces News YouTube channel at 16:45 UK time.

It is a hot and humid, sunny day and UKAF will be hoping to get their campaign off to the best possible start, to avenge the heartbreak of four years ago, when they lost to Fiji in the final.

The IDRC, dubbed the forces rugby World Cup, sees the best rugby players from militaries across the globe do battle on the pitch for the chance to win the greatest prize in forces rugby.

Military teams from the UK, Tonga, Georgia, Spain, France, Australia, Japan, the Netherlands, Fiji, New Zealand, Ireland and Uzbekistan are all competing to lift the prestigious trophy.
