Project Milan 2026: British Army biathlete aiming for Olympics spot

Watch: BFBS Sport caught up with GB and Army biathlete Captain Marcus Webb who told us about his Olympics dream.

British Army biathlete Captain Marcus Webb says his main goal is to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

Capt Webb was in Ruhpolding to watch Exercise Rucksack, the Inter Services and Army biathlon championships, just weeks after he competed in his first World Cup event in the same venue.

He is also set to compete at the World Biathlon Championships at the Vysočina Arena in the Czech Republic in a couple of weeks as he continues to build on his international experience before aiming to be the first British man to compete in an Olympic Biathlon event since 2014 at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

He is based and trains in Lillehammer in Norway and received elite athlete status with the British Army in April 2023.

See what Capt Webb had to say about his Biathlon sporting career in our featured video above.
