US Air Force's 50-state flyover marks 100 years of air refuelling
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of air refuelling, the United States Air Force has staged flyovers over 50 states across the country.
The first demonstration of an aircraft being refuelled while in mid-air took place in 1923.
Today, the technique is used to increase the range and combat effectiveness of military aircraft, keeping them in the skies for longer.
