First British Army units to receive Boxer vehicles revealed

The first British Army Unit to receive the Boxer mechanised infantry vehicles have been revealed.
In a written parliamentary question, John Healey, Labour's Shadow Defence Secretary, asked if the Secretary of State for Defence would "list the first Brigade combat teams to receive Boxer mechanised infantry vehicles".
In response, James Cartlidge, the Defence Procurement Minister, said the first of the vehicles were delivered in December last year.
He added this would allow the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to start trials.
"The trials are being supported by 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers of the 20th Armoured Infantry Brigade Combat Team who will be the first British Army Unit to receive Boxer," he said.
The Boxer was starting to be put through its paces in July last year thanks to a series of special trials.
The Army's next-generation all-terrain armoured vehicle will become the new British Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV), an eight-by-eight-wheeled, rapidly adaptable, armoured transport vehicle.
