The Defence Secretary says Storm Shadow missiles sent by the UK to Ukraine are having a "significant impact" on the battlefield.

Ben Wallace hailed the accuracy of the precision-guided bunker-busting missile as "almost without fault".

Mr Wallace told the House of Commons on Monday: "It is my understanding its accuracy, and ability to deliver successfully the payload as sent and designed by the Ukrainians has been almost without fault, and I think that is an extraordinary achievement both of the engineering that went into it but also of the ability of the Ukrainians to use and deploy it."

He added: "It [Storm Shadow] has had an effect on the Russian army mainly around its logistics and its centres of command and control."

Storm Shadow is said to have a range of more than 250km and Mr Wallace urged international partners to send their long-range weapons to Ukraine as well.

"When Himars was put in and the M270s, that has a range of 80km had similar effect, then Russians moved many of their C2 nodes out of range, which is why deep fires became important," the Defence Secretary said.

"I think the key lesson here is to recognise if Russians moves out of range we must work together internationally to make sure the right equipment is given to make sure they are back in range."

The UK has provided £4.5bn worth of military aid to Ukraine, including more than 10,000 anti-tank missiles, air defence systems and Challenger 2 tanks.
