Take a tour of the battlefield game-changer Himars rocket launch system

Watch: Take a tour of the Himars rocket system.

The Himars is a modern, light, and agile rocket launch platform that packs a punch and serves as a battlefield game-changer.

It has a range of up to 300 kilometres and carries six GMLRS rockets, two Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) or one ATACMS missile.

The US has previously sent the system to Ukraine, with it also being used by countries, such as Poland and Romania, along Nato's eastern flank.

In June last year, Ukraine launched a rocket artillery strike inside Russian territory using American-supplied weapons for the first time.

According to reports, Ukrainian forces used the Himars (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) to fire precision-guided rockets at a target in the city of Belgorod.

BFBS Forces News joined a member of the US Army's 321st Field Artillery on Nato's Exercise Winter Camp, who gave us a look around this impressive system, as shown in the video above.
